The tokens are used for the "F" Market and Wharves historic streetcar line and the world class cable cars, as well as the "MUNI" streetcars that criss-cross the city. The cable cars were invented in San Francisco in 1873 to pull streetcars safely up and down the steep hills. Tokens and Coins has handcrafted jewelry using these historic tokens.
